Michelle Hoskin, founder of Standards International said:
“Assessment outcomes like these are few and far between and only come after a huge amount of thought and effort has been put into creating a management framework which truly exceeds the reaches of international financial planning best practice.
Through our dealings with Dan and his team it has been clear to see that Trusted Planning is all about providing a bespoke and exclusive service for a select number of clients who are only treated as individuals and not ‘shoehorned’ into standard solutions.”

Post first assessment case study (2009)
Dan Brocklehurst gained most of his experience working within respected legal and accountancy practices. Experience which clearly has put him in good stead to excel as he establishes Trusted Planning as a leader in the market place.
Fully equipped with an entrepreneurial spirit and his thorough and diligent approach to advice and service Dan set up Trusted Planning, a financial planning practice which has been built on the foundations of providing high quality, long term, honest and impartial financial advice to individuals and their families many of whom own or have owned businesses and have accumulated wealth or have high earnings.
Dan has realised from experience that to consistently deliver excellence both at a technical and service level and run a successful business, robust processes and procedures must be designed, implemented and continually improved. He believed it essential to get these right from the start.
It was at this point that Dan started to explore the process of working towards and achieving ISO:22222 as he viewed the international standard as the ideal framework when designing and documenting the Trusted Planning methodology and procedures, but most importantly welcomed the challenge of being independent and externally assessed both initially and on an ongoing basis…

…The first step in the certification process was for Dan to attend a Training and Gap Analysis workshop. This consolidated his view of the importance of processes and he particularly valued the attention given to aspects with which he was less familiar such as business operations, client data protection and disaster recovery.
Dan left the workshop eager to finalise the processes and procedures and with the confidence to begin the project of documenting them in the form of the Trusted Planning operations manual. They were a new business with an exciting and rewarding journey ahead, a journey that they have embraced with open arms.
The true rewards came at the assessment stage when the Standards International assessor failed (despite trying) to find any omissions in their systems and procedures which would prevent them from meeting the requirements of the ISO:22222 standard.
Graham Waterworth was appointed Senior Partner of the firm in March 2010 and he himself became certified to ISO:22222 in April 2010. Graham is a Chartered Financial Planner, Certified Financial Planner, Fellow of the Pensions Management Institute and an examiner for both the Institute of Financial Planning and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Graham is well known for his impartiality, his high level of technical ability, his thoroughness, diligence and most uniquely his healthy scepticism.
Graham commented:
“Along with our shared beliefs, objectives and ethics, Trusted Planning’s aim to exceed the standards required by ISO:22222 was instrumental in my decision to join Dan and Andrew as a partner of the firm. These core principles clearly set us apart within the profession and I am proud to be part of a culture that exceeds best practice wherever possible.”
